About Kim Holmes

Kim has had a private studio in Mill Valley for 18 years and many of her clients have been with her since the beginning.  Her outdoor adventure lifestyle, competitive athletic career and meditative practices taught her early on how to work with the limitations of injury and the many challenges in life. She is able to share these lifelong lessons with her clients.

Kim is certified in Yoga Therapy,  Personal Training, Pilates, Gyrotonic®, Gyrokinesis®, Orthopedic Massage, and Cranial Sacral Therapy.

She studied anatomy and kinesiology as well as Feldenkrais®, manual therapy, joint mobilization, ART (active release technique), MET (muscle energy technique), visceral manipulation, orthopedic bodywork (by Lauren Berry), NMR (neuromuscular reprogramming), Iyengar, Anusara, Shakti Naam, and Kundalini Yoga, Tai Chi, Quin Quan, and QiGong and many different types of meditation and breathwork.

Kim has been studying for over 20 years with Jean Claude West, a motor control specialist, who has been an incredible support,  inspiration, and mentor to her and her work.  She has been influenced by the Rolfing® technique, homeopathy, Chinese medicine (acupuncture), Ayurveda, naturopathy and many different styles of chiropractic including atlas orthogonal work and multiple physical therapy techniques.

Kim creates specialized treatment programs for all of her clients. She works with professional athletes as well as active people of all ages with sport related injuries, scoliosis, and joint replacement. She also has many clients with different kinds of neurological conditions including MS (Multiple Sclerosis), Parkinson's disease, chronic fatigue syndrome, fibromyalgia, polymyalgia rheumatic and rheumatoid arthritis. Kim helps many clients who have intestinal distress or disorder, such as IBS (irritable bowel syndrome).
